Tree Pruning

Think of tree care as an investment. A healthy tree increases in value with age - paying big dividends, increasing property values, beautifying our surroundings, purifying our air, and saving energy by providing cooling shade fromáAustin's heat and protection from winterÆs wind.

Regular tree pruning, designed to promote tree health and vigor, ensures their value will continue to grow. Pruning (also called tree trimming) is a horticultural practice involving the selective removal of parts of a tree. Reasons to prune trees include deadwood removal, shaping (by controlling or directing growth), improving or maintaining health, and increasing the yield or quality of flowers and fruits. Pruning also allows an up close inspection that can also be helpful in detecting potential issues with the trees. Preventing a problem is much less costly and time-consuming than curing one once it has developed. Considering that many tree species can live as long as 200 to 300 years, scheduled pruning is an investment that will offer enjoyment and value for generations.

Our Tree Pruning Process

Although we can trim trees throughout Austin and surrounding areas at any time of year, we recommend it be done during fall and winter. If you have oak trees, it is very important to not do any pruning to them from March through July. When pruning your trees, we spray a sealant on any cuts in the tree to help reduce insects infestation and tree diseases. We take the time to clean our saws to help reduce the risk of oak wilt and other common diseases and use sharp chains on every saw to ensure clean, safe cuts. Our tree pruning technicians are very cautious when trimming the trees, to avoid damage to any existing landscape features, your home, and your fencing, particularly from falling limbs.

Once we have trimmed the trees, we'll also clean up and remove all debris caused by the pruning process. We'll haul away all of the tree debris to be recycled in order to help save space at local landfills.
